Snowman Top Hat {FREE PATTERN}

Snowman Top Hat {FREE PATTERN}

It’s beginning to look at lot like Christmas around here! There’s only 19 more days until Christmas and I can hardly believe it!  It’s sneaking up on me and I still have tons of shopping and crocheting to do before it gets here!

I had a request for a snowman top hat to use in a newborn photo shoot.  I had never made anything like this before so I turned to pinterest to look for a pattern!  I came across THIS PATTERN from Pattern Paradise! I tweaked it a little for my needs and I think it turned out cute! I can’t wait to see how it looks in pictures!

Snowman Top Hat {FREE PATTERN}

Materials:

  • size H hook
  • size F hook
  • Hobby Lobby’s I Love This Yarn! in black
  • Hobby Lobby’s I Love This Yarn! in Cranberry
  • Hobby Lobby’s I Love This Yarn! in Dark Olive
  • yarn needle
  • scissors

Pattern:

Please use the original patter found HERE! I used this pattern but tweaked a few things for my needs.

  • On round 1, instead of doing 8 hdc in the magic ring, I crocheted 10 hdc in the magic ring. ( I crochet very tight.  If you are a loose crocheter, you are probably fine only crocheting 8 hdc) I continued the pattern until the band.
  • For the band
    • Row 1: ch 1 and sc in each stitch around, sl st in the first sc of the row.
    • Rows 2-5: ch 1 and hdc in each stitch around, sl st in the first hdc of the row.
  • For the Brim I followed the original pattern
  • For the Holly I used THIS PATTERN from Oombawka Designs! I used a size F hook and followed the pattern exactly!Snowman Top Hat {FREE PATTERN}

This snowman top hat would make a great gift for a Christmas baby! You could also make the larger size and use it for a tree topper or a Christmas decoration in your home!

Elf Hat

This hat is PERFECT for newborn pictures! If you know a Christmas baby, I would suggest making something like this as a gift.  The pictures always turn out so adorable! I didn’t use a pattern for this hat but I have seen several free patterns on pinterest. I am planning on writing up this pattern and posting it soon! Once again, the pom pom maker is my new best friend!

Anchor Hat

This little guy is so sweet.  I was asked to make this hat to match a nautical themed nursery!  I am a sucker for all things nautical (my dog is even named Harbor)! The pattern I used for the anchor is from Daisy Cottage Designs! THIS LINK takes you to her pattern for a sweet matching nautical baby blanket! I used THIS ANCHOR APPLIQUE PATTERN for the hat but instead of using a size H hook, I used a size F hook.

Cubs Inspired Hat

Remember that one time the Cubs won the world series?  I knew I had to make a hat for all the little cub fans out there!  For the letter C, I used THIS PATTERN from Moogly! You can find FREE PATTERN links to the entire alphabet! I outlined the C in white and added some bear ears and a tiny bow! I think it turned out pretty cute!

Cotton Dish Cloths {FREE PATTERN}

Cotton Dish Cloths {FREE PATTERN}

I have been trying to find Summer crochet patterns to share with you now that it’s getting warmer! I shared a pattern for some seashell coasters with you a few weeks ago!  I was browsing Pinterest and found this simple pattern for some cotton dish cloths and I LOVE the way they turned out!  You can find the pattern HERE!

Cotton Dish Cloths {FREE PATTERN}

Materials:

  • Worsted weight COTTON yarn! I prefer I Love This Cotton yarn by Hobby Lobby
  • I hook
  • H hook
  • Scissors
  • Yarn needle

Cotton Dish Cloths {FREE PATTERN}

For my starting chain I use a size I hook and then switch to a size H hook to complete the rest of the pattern.  This helps the dishcloth to be the same tightness on both ends.  My dish cloths came out to be an 8×8 square!

I absolutely love the texture that this simple pattern gives me!  These cotton dish cloths are great for washing dishes and wiping down counter tops!  They have also held up great in the washing machine!
